Prices refresh about every 30 minutes, sourced directly from the UK Government's Fuel Finder scheme under the Open Government Licence — the same data retailers themselves report into.
Why do petrol and diesel prices vary so much between stations?
Forecourt prices depend on wholesale fuel costs at the time of purchase, site rent and running costs, local competition, and whether the operator is a supermarket, motorway services, or an independent — supermarkets and high-competition areas are usually cheaper.
What's the difference between E10 and E5 petrol?
E10 is the standard unleaded grade at nearly every UK forecourt, blended with up to 10% bioethanol. E5 (‘super’ or premium unleaded) is usually higher-octane and blended with up to 5% bioethanol instead.
