Terms and reviews policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Fuel Tracker UK is an independent service that shows UK fuel prices published through the UK Government’s Fuel Finder scheme. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by HM Government or any fuel retailer. By using the website or apps you agree to these terms.
Using the service
- Prices come from the Fuel Finder scheme and are shown without modification. We can’t guarantee they are correct or current: always check the price at the pump.
- Don’t misuse the service, for example by scraping it at a rate that disrupts it or by trying to get around its limits.
- You’re responsible for keeping your account secure. You can delete it at any time, as described in our privacy policy.
Reviews content policy
Signed-in drivers can rate a station they have used: whether the pump price matched the price we showed, what they paid if it didn’t, a star rating and a short optional comment. Ratings are driver reports, not part of the Fuel Finder data, and are shown separately from prices. Reviewers appear as “Verified driver”; we never show your name or email.
What you agree to when you rate
- Your rating describes your own, genuine experience at that station.
- You don’t work for, own or compete with the station, and nobody paid or asked you to rate it.
- What you say about prices is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Comments must not include
- Swearing, insults, harassment, threats, hate speech or slurs.
- Personal information about anyone: names or descriptions of staff or customers, phone numbers, email addresses, number plates.
- Accusations of crime or dishonesty stated as fact (for example “they are thieves”). Say what happened instead: “the pump charged 4p more than the sign” is fine.
- Links, adverts, spam, or anything not about this station.
How comments are checked
Every comment is checked automatically before it is published: first by our own filter, then by an AI moderation service. Comments that clearly break this policy are not published, and you’ll be told why; ones the checks are unsure about are held for a person to review. Your star rating and price report count straight away either way. Signed-in drivers can report a published comment; enough reports hide it until we review it.
Limits
To keep ratings fair you need a verified email address and an account at least 3 days old. You can rate a station once every 7 days, leave up to 5 ratings in any 24 hours, and edit a rating up to three times in the 24 hours after posting it. A station’s score counts each driver’s most recent rating from the last 12 months. We may remove ratings and suspend accounts that break this policy.
Reporting a wrong price officially
Ratings here are not a complaint to the Fuel Finder scheme. To report a wrong published price, use the GOV.UK reporting service.
If you run a station
If you believe a rating of your station is false or unlawful, email privacy@fueltracker.uk with the station, the rating and why. We review every complaint and will remove a rating that breaks this policy. We don’t remove ratings simply because they are negative.
Removing your own rating
Deleting your account deletes all your ratings. To have a particular rating removed, email privacy@fueltracker.uk from the address on your account.
Changes
We may update these terms. If the reviews policy changes materially, we’ll ask you to accept it again before your next rating.
